On Sunday, May 15th, the 17th Hakone Matsuri Festival was held at Hakone Gardens in Saratoga. Consul General Yamada attended the opening ceremony and had remarks.
Attendees were entertained by a variety of cultural attractions and performances, as well as a wide array of Japanese cuisine. The consulate also held an information booth and distributed materials on education, travel, and culture in Japan.
This year’s Hakone Matsuri was held in conjunction with Hakone Gardens’ ongoing 100th Anniversary years from 2015 to 2017.
